Eating vegetables is a lot more exciting when you can pair them with a delicious sauce or condiment.

I mean, would you rather have carrots and hummus or just plain carrots? What about a salad that just has greens and a bland oil and vinegar mix versus a loaded bowl with a flavorful dressing?

I’m sure most of you would pick the veggies + tasty condiment, right? Well, good, because I have quite the treat for you today!

This Strawberry Tahini Dressing is an incredible companion to veggies. With just three ingredients, it takes almost no time to make, and can be stored in the fridge to use for dipping your veggies and dressing your salads all week long.

I actually developed this recipe as part of a red, white, and blue salad that I will be sharing with you soon, in honor of the 4th of July. But since it was so tasty, I thought it deserved its own post!

What does tahini taste like?

Tahini is made from ground up sesame seeds, so it has a very nutty and bitter flavor. It’s extremely creamy and is one of the main ingredients in hummus.

If you’ve never worked with tahini in the kitchen before, I strongly encourage you to give it a try! Even though it’s not at all sweet, tahini pairs well with citrus, fruits, maple syrup, honey, and other sweeteners.

In fact, the bitterness of tahini beautifully complements these ingredients.

How to Make Tahini Dressing

This Strawberry Tahini Dressing has only three ingredients: fresh strawberries, tahini, and lemon juice. And the process is just as simple:

  1. Combine the ingredients in a blender or food processor.
  2. Blend or pulse until smooth, about 30 seconds.
  3. Thin with water as needed.
  4. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

You can also make other varieties of tahini dressing without a blender by whisking together tahini, some type of citrus juice or sweetener, and the seasonings of your choice.

How long does tahini dressing last?

About 5 to 7 days in the fridge. You can also freeze tahini dressing and thaw it in the fridge before using if you want to increase its shelf life.

Ways to Use Strawberry Tahini Dressing

As I mentioned earlier, I used this dressing for a spinach salad recipe that’s coming soon. But you can use it to dress any type of leafy greens: arugula, romaine, endive, watercress, kale, bok choy…you name it!

Strawberry Tahini Dressing also pairs well with pita chips and sliced raw veggies (especially cucumbers).
