Inspired by the famous drink Strawberry Colada and keeping in mind the current festive season, I cooked up these Strawberry Colada Modaks for Lord Ganesha. These modaks are quick to make and need ingredients found commonly in any pantry. The end result is light pink colored modaks that are totally amazing! Ready in just 10 minutes, these modaks are a sure try!
Ingredients
Dessicated Coconut 2 cups
Sweetened Condensed Milk 1/2 cup
Strawberry Crush 2 tsp
Cardamom Powder 2 tsp
Ghee 1 tsp
Method
Heat ghee in a pan. Set aside 1/4 cup coconut and add the rest to ghee. Cook it for 2-3 minutes and then add condensed milk and strawberry crush. Mix well and cook for about 4-5 minutes till it all comes together as a thick mass.
Next add in the cardamom and stir. Turn down the flame and let the mixture cool for a minute or two. Once it is cool enough to handle with naked hand, take equal parts of the mixture and shape them into a ball. Roll the ball in dessicated coconut, then shape it like a modak.
Cute pink modaks are ready!
These modaks are very versatile in terms of the flavor you want. Add any flavor crush you like to get the desired flavored modaks.
The last time I made them, I stopped at the balls stage and served them as pink colored balls coated with some fine desiccated coconut. You can also put it in a tray and cut it into cubes.
